Welcome to Norman Walker Ministries

Norman Walker Ministries was birthed out of a desire deep within Norman Walker’s heart to fulfill the call of Isaiah 6:8 ~ Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. After visiting Guyana, the call of the people needing help has remained a constant voice in Norm’s ears.

Although the ministry has been fruitful in seven countries, our main missionary focus is to the Amerindians residing in the interior of Guyana, South America. These people are called The Forgotten Ones and Children of the Forest. Precious, innocent, and pure, these people have a permanent residence in Norm’s heart. The calling is life long and has been an integral part of our lives since 1993. Approximately 94,000 people inhabit the rain forest. Of that number, we have touched about one third of the villages with the gospel of Jesus Christ and humanitarian aid. It is our goal to not only offer them Jesus, but to show his love in the form of supplying the necessities of life.

God has abundantly blessed this ministry with wonderful team members from all over the United States. Dear friends and co-workers have joined together in a common goal to work side by side in this ripe harvest field. Without our beloved team members, the work could not go forward as it should. They bring expertise in areas of teaching, mentoring, ministering, and offering humanitarian efforts in several forms. We sincerely thank those who stand alongside us, sharing the vision and seeing it come to fruition. From the beginning, our close friend and confidante from Guyana, Rev. Ramdharry, has offered wise counsel and been so very helpful in assisting us in the Amerindian missionary endeavor. He is a valuable asset of Norman Walker Ministries. Pastor Ram, your expertise is invaluable and your kind, loving heart is forever dear to us. You are a vital part of our ministry.

Browse our pages and see our team at work in the Amerindian villages. Imagine what life is like in this part of the world. The waterways are the roads into the jungle and boats the mode of transportation. The natives live in huts with very little food or worldly goods. This piece of God’s earth is precious and dear to us; dear enough to invest our lives for the betterment of the Amerindians. Norm has watched children grow up and become parents; three generations attend his evangelistic meetings. God’s work is wonderful and lasting and profound and marvelous in our eyes. We can never understand how vast his plan is for our lives. As we pour into others, God refills our vessels and they will never be empty.

We believe you must first be faithful in your own community. Find a church home, a place where you can worship our Lord and use your talents to help others. Norm has taken a pastorate and we now have our very own special home mission field. And oh the joy it brings. Dear people have joined us, walking alongside, holding up our hands, as we fulfill the call in our local area.

Dear friends, the greatest life to be lived is one where God is in control and you simply follow the path he sets before you. So pick up his word, fill yourself to the brim, and go out and share his goodness. His word will meet every need in anyone’s life. Within the pages of the Bible, there are answers to all of life’s problems. Our Lord has placed his treasure in earthen vessels (within us), not to keep to ourselves but to share. Freely you have received, so freely give that treasure and see your world explode with his goodness. He’ll send the hurting to you, both at home and abroad. Remember, you are not their Savior. Your task is to point them to our risen Lord. We encourage you to be about the father’s business. Realize your purpose and fulfill your destiny. He has called you for such a time as this. May your answer be, “Here I am, Lord, send me!”
